Are Women Really To Remain Silent?

We live in a radical feminist-influenced culture that has tainted Christians by their lies because the church has let them in. One reason why the idea of women not holding elder status, teaching, preaching, but rather is commanded to be in silence is so hated is because we have let culture shape our views instead of scripture. Let us hold to the authority of scripture as the inspired word of God instead of our emotional preference. All that God has created with a specific purpose is good. His ways are perfect and bless us as women.  Disclaimer: I do not intend for this to be an exhaustive study on the topic.…

Abstinence Until Marriage is Not an Impossibility, it is a Choice.

I recently watched a video of a person talking to college students on their campus of political and moral issues of our day. They were discussing abortion and a young girl was telling how many girls find themselves pregnant and abortion is their only option because their future is at stake. To whom the man replied that abstinence was one of many options that could be practiced in order to avoid pregnancy and also abortion. The girl begin to argue that teen pregnancy rates are through the roof and that just won’t work, they must keep abortion available for them. She begin to act like practicing abstinence was impossible. To…

    Thoughts From An Older Mother

In Titus 2:3-5, we read of the words of our Lord in commanding women to teach other women several different concepts. The one that is of interest today in my blog is the command for women to teach other women to love their children. The Lord tells us that this issue should be taught so that the Word of God would not be blasphemed. Pretty important stuff! So here is my story. After our 3rd child was born, I began telling others, with great surety, that this would be our last child. We had named our precious little boy Zachary and I laughingly spoke of how he was our last…

Self Confidence = Virture & Immodesty?

There is a lie that has been floating around for a long, long time in the culture and also in the church. In our long quest to help women with being confident in their own skin and bodies, we have picked up this lie of what being confident actually looks like. This lie is that when one finally achieves confidence in their body, they will have the freedom to dress however they wish. You and I have all seen the fashion shows that “help” women to dress confident and it always results in showing off more skin. Because somehow being confident means shorter dresses, lower necklines, and tighter jeans. Does…

Women Are Insecure Of Their Own Femininity

I recently heard someone make this comment and it struck me. Could this really be the case? What is the definition of insecure? 1. not confident or assured; uncertain and anxious. 2. not firm or set; unsafe. So are women really uncertain and not firm or set in femininity? Yes, I believe so and we can see it in our culture around us. Women have been told that their femininity is not good enough. We are told that to have worth and value and live significant lives, we must take on masculinity. These ideas have been pushed in our culture for a while now. Women are feeling uncertain as women.…

    But What If…

We love to play this game. We make decisions on it. We give up because of it. We allow fear and doubt to win because of it. We miss out on victory because of it. It is the “what if” game. What if I don’t receive healing? What if I have another miscarriage? What if I am consumed with bitterness after I forgive? What if they think I condone it? What if I tithe and then can’t pay my bills? What if I can’t support my family? What if I have another child and can’t give them what they need? What if my health declines? What if my children grow…

Can We Move On To Higher Things Now?

Fashion. Makeup. Self-image. Perfect weight. Flawless skin. These are subjects that concern and consume unbelieving women, but also, concern and consume us believing women as well. I’m asking, should this be so? I’ve grown weary with these subjects. Just plain tired of them. I feel they are robbing us of eternal mindsets and visions. Just think about it with me for a minute. Here we are in a world of darkness, souls are dying all around us, babies are being murdered every day, mothers have lost their mother-hearts, fathers are abandoning their posts, men and women are throwing off masculinity and femininity, families are broken down, tons of children are…

    I Am Guilty Of Abortion.

I’ve never walked into an abortion clinic. I would never consider letting a doctor take the life of my unborn child, but I am guilty of putting my own desires before God’s and before another human.  One day I fell into a pit of fear—gut-clenching panic, a debilitating numbness in my limbs, stark terror rushing through my brain. I checked and rechecked the test strip in my hands before finally assuring myself that it was all right. I wasn’t pregnant. But if I had been? A kid would cramp my style. It would change the life I’ve made for myself: a comfortable, good life. I have a husband who loves me, friends, work,…

    5 Reasons Why I’m Not A Feminist

We are now in what people are calling the 3rd wave of feminism and when I listen to the ideology behind this 3rd wave, I just can not align myself with its core beliefs. I will list my reasons below. 1. I believe the core of feminism is against God’s biblical design It is very clear in Scripture that men and women were both created equally in the image of God and both have the same value and worth. But we were created distinct from each other with differing roles. One role is not above the other. Both roles are needed for a healthy family life to exist. We find…

    A Story Of Bold Women

Thinking of bold and courageous women…here is a true story. In the latter days of the Holocaust, there was a group of Jewish men that were targeted by Hitler for their extermination. The Gestapo called it the “Final Roundup”. Initially, both Hitler and another Nazi party leader had worried about the reaction of the German spouses if they were to be forcibly removed from the Jewish spouse. So, instead, they resorted to social pressure to force a divorce, so that the Jewish spouse could then easily be sent to the death camps. Consequently, those men whose wives gave in and divorced them WERE killed! This plan didn’t totally succeed though…
